New Principal Secretary to PM calls on President

The newly appointed Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the President congratulated the new Principal Secretary, President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS.
The head of the state said Ahmad Kaikaus earlier proved his efficiency during various assignments and hopped that he would also be able to perform his jobs with utmost honesty and sincerity in days to come.
The premier’s Principal Secretary sought necessary cooperation and directives from the President in discharging duties properly.
Earlier, Senior Secretary of Power Division Dr Kaikaus was replaced former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Md Nojibur Rahman.
Kaikaus received master’s degree in Development Economics from the Center for Development Economics at Williams College in Massachusetts in the US, and PhD in Public Policy and Political Economy from the University of Texas.
He joined the Administration Cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service in 1986.
He has worked at different levels of field administration and worked on deputation in several organisations, including Directorate of Accommodation, Department of Narcotics Control and Bangladesh Services Limited.
During the meeting, President’s Secretary Sampad Barua, Secretary attached to Bangabhaban Wahidul Islam Khan and President’s Military Secretary Major General SM Shamim-Uz-Zaman were also present.
