Two govt colleges in the port city will get 10-storied building for the first time . Besides one 5-storied building will be built in Govt Commerce college of Chattogram.
Under the post-graduate project of the Education Ministry , 10 storied building will be built at Chattogram Govt college and Govt City College . After completion of these multistoried building in three govt colleges, about more 8000 students will get change for study than existing capacity, Education Engineering Directorate sources said.
Executive Engineer of Education Engineering Directorate, Chattogram Md.Jalaluddin told BSS that the construction works of Govt Commerce college and Govt city college have already been started in the meantime and the work order for Chattogram Govt college building already given to the concerned contractor and expected to be started by end of current month.
Sources said the estimated cost of the 10 storied building fixed at Tk.12 crores and Tk.5 crores for 5 storied building of Commerce college. EED sources said the projects for 10 storied building will be completed by December 2020 and 5 storied building by end of current year.
Colleges sources s said after completion of the academic buildings of these three colleges, more 3500 students will get change for admission in Chattogram college and City College .
On the other hand more 1500 students will get change for admission in Commerce college. Mentionable that about 16000 students are running their education in Chattogram Govt College in HSC, Degree, Degree (Hons) and Post Graduate (Masters) classes . Teachers sources said after completion of the newly constructed academic buildings, need of new teachers for the newly admitted students underscored .
