The new executive committee of the Bangladesh Hockey Federation took charge on Saturday with a promise to help the sport thrive in the country. BHF President Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat formally handed over charges to new General Secretary AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed and other members of the newly-elected executive committee earlier in the day. The federation got its much-awaited executive committee on April 29. A final list of the 28-member committee was published by National Sports Council on May 6. “A new era has begun in Bangladesh Hockey. I believe the new committee will help spread the sport,” said the BHF chief. He urged the federation members to perform their duties sincerely. Later, Sayeed revealed plans about arranging local and international hockey events and arranging training facilities for the players.
