BSS, Dhaka :
Dhaka City Awami League general secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram) yesterday said new faces are added to the list of conspirators against Awami League.
“Local and foreign conspirators have grouped under a platform to harm Awami League. They have initiated a new conspiracy,” he said calling upon the leaders and workers of the ruling party to be more alert against their conspiracy.
The Awami League leader said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organised by the “August 21 Bangladesh”, an organisation campaigning for the
completion of the trial of the cases against perpetrators of the August 21 carnage of 2004 expeditiously, at Awami League central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.
President of the organisation and vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique chaired the discussion, also addressed, among others, by Railway Minister Mujibul Huq, Dhaka City Awami League (AL) organising secretary Shahe Alam Murad and publicity secretary Abdul Huq Sabuj.
Pointing at Gano Forum president Dr Kamal Hossain and AK Khondker, Maya Chowdhury said, “Some turn-coat politicians like garbage have grouped together in brewing up conspiracy. Jamaat-Shibir clique should not only be blamed for this.”
He called upon the party leaders and workers to remain more alert against the conspirators by reducing their attendance only in discussions and public rallies.
Maya said, “Many people think that Ziaur Rahman was a big freedom fighter but they don’t know he was actually a Pakistani, nothing else.” The AL leader stressed the need for strengthening the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by resolving the misunderstanding among party leadership at this crucial juncture of the nation.
Mujibul Huq, “Remarks against Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is tantamount to taking stand against the nation. Khaleda Zia’s eldest son Tarique Rahman has gone to the extent of passing derogatory remarks against Bangabandhu. For this, the nation would deject him.”
