New Superintendent of Police of Cox’s Bazar Mohammad Hasanuzzaman has been diagnosed with coronavirus.
The report of his swab test carried out at Cox’s Bazar Medical College came out positive on Saturday morning, said its Assistant Professor Mohammad Shahjahan Nazir.
However, Hasanuzzaman, who replaced ABM Masud Hossain as the police chief of the district barely 10 days ago, has no symptom of coronavirus.
The SP said he gave sample for coronavirus test in a good condition. “As the report came out positive, I remained in home isolation and am taking medicines as per doctor’s advice.”
Hasanuzzaman joined as the SP of Cox’s Bazar on September 23 last.
All the police personnel working in the district were transferred and replaced with new ones following the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing.
