M Jahirul Alam Dovas, Vice-President of Chattogram City Unit Awami League, took charge as the Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) yesterday.
The government appointed M Jahirul Alam Dovas, son of late Awami League leader Jane Alam Dovas, as new chief of the CDA replacing Abdus Salam.
Officials and employees of CDA received the newly-appointed chairman with bouquet at CDA gate, reports BSS. CDA also organized a millad mahfil on the occasion of joining of the new chairman attended by board members, officials and employees of CDA.
After assuming the office, the chairman said he would put in maximum efforts to value the trust entrusted upon him by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the proper development of the port city.He also urged cooperation from all mainly from officials of CDA to develop the commercial capital of the country in a planned manner through accumulating the pragmatic suggestions of all stakeholders and cooperation from all quarters.
