A new born infant was stolen from her mother’s lap at a private clinic in Sharsa Upazila in Jashore district on Wednesday noon.
Police rescued the infant from Doshtina village in Jhikorgaccha upazila on 11 pm in the night.
Shariful Islam ,the father of the infant, said his wife Nasrin Begum was admitted to Polli Clinic and Diagnostic Centre’ in Navaron Bazar with stomach pain on Wednesday where she gave born an infant girl around 9 am.
Later, the infant was stolen from the clinic in absence of the attendant of the hospital in the noon, said Sub-inspector Abul Hossain of Sharsa Police Station.
Being informed from the clinic , police conducted a drive at Doshtina village in Jhikorgaccha upazila and arrested a woman ,name Salma Khatun in this connection.
