Distribution of new books started in all the primary and secondary schools of the district on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj Mohammad Jahangeer Kobir inaugurated the distribution in a function held at Nawabganj Model Government Primar School as chief guest.
The function was held with the district primary education officer Sayedul Islam in the chair. Among others, sadar upazila primary education officer Shamim Ahmed Khan, president of the school managing committee Advocate Shamsul Hoque and head teacher of the school Maruful Hoque were present on the occasion.
According to the Chapainawabganj District Primary Education Office sources, 10,35,750 new books have been sent to 1,149 government and non-government primary schools for 2,20,125 students of the district.
Narsingdi Correspondent reports: Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman on Thursday formally inaugurated free distribution of text book programme in the district. He distributed the books among the students of different primary, secondary school, madrasha and technical education institute including Kamargoan Government Model Primary, Satirpara KK institute, Satirpara Government Girls High School, Ideal High School and Jamia Kashamia Madrasha in the town. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Suriaya Begum Also distributed book in Brahmandi Government Boys High school in the town.

According district Primary and Secondary Education Offices sources said a total of 16,86624 copies book were distributed among the students of 1467 primary schools and 26,50,000 copies among students of 232 of High schools and Madrashas.
BSS from Faridpur adds: More than ten lakh new text books were distributed among the primary and secondary students including Ebtedia and Dakhil level students of the district in festivity.
According to official sources, 10 lakh 4 thousand 630 books were distributed among the students of nine upazillas of this district.
Government officials, teachers and elected representatives took part in the book distribution festivals held in the different parts of the district.
DC of Faridpur Sardar Sharafat Ali distributed books in Goldangi primary school located in the inaccessible Charland of river Padma under North Channnel union of Sadar upazilla.
ADC(Gen) Md. Abdur Rashid distributed the new books in Government Girl’s High School in the town. UNO of Sadar Jahirul Islam took part in the book festival of Komorpur Abdul Aziz Institution.
According to some teachers the new books will create a positive impact among the students for studying. The students were also appeared to be very satisfied after receiving the new books on the first day of English New Year.
