Newly appointed Bangladesh ambassador to Spain Hasan Mahmud Khandaker made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the President asked the envoy to take steps to explore ways for increasing trade of Bangladesh with Spain, President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
The President also asked him to take steps to export new items apart from traditional ones to Spain.
Hasan has sought the President’s advice and cooperation in discharging his duties in Spain.
Khandaker served as Inspector General of Police from August 31, 2010 to December 31, 2014.
