Newly appointed envoy of Bangladesh to Indonesia Major Gen Azmal Kabir made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Tuesday afternoon.
During the meeting, the President said there are excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Indonesia. There are also scopes to expand trade and investment relations between the two friendly countries, he said and asked the envoy to take necessary steps to exploit those scopes for mutual benefits of the two countries.
The President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
President Hamid said Bangladesh produces world standard pharmaceuticals, ceramic and other products and advised the ambassador to put continued effort to create market for the products.
Azmal Kabir sought the President’s cooperation in discharging his assignment in Indonesia.
