The trailer introduces viewers to Dr Anna Fox (Amy Adams), who suffers from agoraphobia (an anxiety disorder that makes her fear leaving the house). Because of this, she spends her days sitting near a window, where she secretly watches her neighbors as they go about their daily routines. When Anna receives a surprise visit from her neighbor, Jane Russell (Julianne Moore), she begins watching the home Jane shares with her husband, Alistair (Gary Oldman).
