Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defied the call of a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine by the United States President Joe Biden and continued airstrikes in the besieged Gaza Strip on Thursday, the 11th day since the Israeli occupational forces carried out brutal attacks on Palestinians.
US President Joe Biden on Wednesday discussed the events in Gaza with Netanyahu, telling the Israeli premier that he expected “a significant de-escalation on the path to a ceasefire”.
However, Netanyahu said he was “determined” to continue bombarding Gaza until Israel’s “aim is met” while speaking with Biden over the phone.
Meanwhile, the diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine remain stalled.
Besides, the United States continuing its hard-try to block UN Security Council action on the issue.
As of Thursday, a total of 227 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli airstrikes and the ground attacks on innocent Palestinians by Israeli occupational forces.
Besides, 12 people have been killed from the Israeli side.
Israel claims that most Palestinians killed in their attacks are “militants” and that the deaths of innocent civilians are unintended. However, Hamas has denied Israel’s foul claim.
