Farmers of northern region are now passing their bad time during the current Irri season because of Nitrogen-based farming, sudden rain and buzzing heat.
Raw Paddy grains are affected by Virus and Fungus. At the advice of the related researchers and doctors spraying process is also not working. The stalks of the paddy are affected badly by the virus and fungus. As a result, the farmers cultivated Bri-28 and Hybrid paddy are going to face a great loss.
According to Rangpur Regional Agriculture Office, the target level of Eri cultivation has been set in 5 lakh 5 thousand 349 hectares of land in Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Nilphamari and Rangpur in the Rangpur region this season In different districts and in the upazilas of different districts the pathetic scene can be found in the Irri Boro cultivation fields. Plants that are full of ripe paddy or just pollen came are getting dry. Many have dried out from yellow to white. As far as the vision is concerned, the field is almost the same. Every day the amount of infection is increasing. The new fields have been pestered by the spread of net blast and crippled diseases. How will they overcome this harm is the question of all farmers. Who will help their family to protect their families?
 Jahidul Islam, a farmer from Faridabad area of Shari-1 No. UP in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur district said that there was no crop of about 1 acre of land total paddy of this land is affected by the disease and destroyed. Who will listen to whom? Who will compensate this loss of thefarmers?Majed a farmer of Buri Hat area, said, “I have cultivated land of other by borrowing.”
