Nepalese Ambassador in Dhaka Prof Chop Lal Bhusal has said his country is very much interested in boosting trade relations with Bangladesh.
He mentioned Nepal has been doing trade and business with Bangladesh through maintaining cordial relations since the post-independence time.
“Nepal wants furthermore enhancement of the trade relations with Bangladesh,” the envoy said while exchanging views with leaders of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (RCCI) at its conference hall in the city on Monday evening.
Chaired by RCCI President Md Muniruzzaman, the meeting was addressed, among others, by its directors Ahsan Uddin Sarker and Sadrul Islam, local unit president of Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries Prof Rojety Naznin and president of Restaurant Owners Association Riaz Ahmed Khan.
Prof Chop Lal Bhusal says Nepal enjoys close and cordial relations with Bangladesh marked by goodwill, cooperation and understanding to each other’s aspirations.
He adds geographical proximity, cultural affinity, shared values and similar views on many regional and international issues bring both countries and people closer together.
Prof Bhusal told the meeting that Nepal was one of the first countries to recognize Bangladesh as a sovereign and independent state after the liberation war of 1971.
He observed that the moral support and the contribution made by the Nepali people and its political leaders during the war of liberation of Bangladesh have a deep imprint in the first generation of Bangladeshi politicians and freedom fighters.
Prof Bhusal attributed that the Republic of Bangladesh is marching vigorously forward on a new road of development. It is inspiring to see the success of Bangladesh in social and economic spheres, he added.
