Nepal-BD youth conclave ends on ‘Mujib Borsho’

The fourth Nepal-Bangladesh Youth Conclave ended in Nepalese capital Kathmandu on Sunday as a part of celebration of “Mujib Borsho”, the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Around 20 participants from various universities of Bangladesh and 30 students from all the seven provinces of Nepal attended the conclave, supported by Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu, a foreign ministry press release said here.
The objective of the youth conclave is to strengthen the cultural ties and mutual relationship of Nepal and Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Ambassador in Kathmandu Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury hosted a reception at the honor of all youth participants at the Bangladesh mission after the conclave.
Bangladesh Ambassador briefed youth of both the countries about various aspects of Bangladesh-Nepal bilateral relations at the reception, also attended by Vice Chairman of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality of Lamjung District of Nepal and a Member of the National Youth Council of Nepal.
The ambassador also stressed on the importance of people-to-people contact and such youth exchange in strengthening the socio-cultural connectivity and relations of two friendly countries Bangladesh and Nepal.
Nepal’s land management, cooperatives and poverty alleviation minister Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe inaugurated the conclave at Nepal Tourism Board on Saturday.
The ceremony was also attended by the academia, students, members of civil society, journalists of Nepal and Bangladeshi expatriates.
With the theme “Building Back Better”, the two-day long conclave discussed various aspects of UN Sustainable Development Goals related to youth, issues related to climate change, Environment protection and sustainability, among others.
