Chief of Army Staff of Nepal Army General Rajendra Chhetri made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the President said Bangladesh has world-class training institute with infrastructural facilities for military training and the Nepalese army officials have the scope to take training from Bangladesh.
Abdul Hamid also said the Nepalese students can enroll themselves in Armed Forces Medical College, Bangladesh University of Professionals and country’s other educational institutions for getting quality education. President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
He emphasised exchanging visit of high officials of the army of the two countries with a view to further strengthening the relation between the two forces.
Terming the relations between army of the two countries as very excellent General Rajendra Chhetri proposed conducting joint expedition on Mount Everest.
The Nepalese Army chief expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh government and the Army to take part in rescue operation and rebuilding after last year’s devastating earthquake in Nepal.
