A three-day old neonatal baby allegedly missing from the lap of mother at labour ward of Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH).
The missing baby was a second son of Salma Begum and delivered on Thursday night by cesarean operation.
Construction worker Anwar Hossain Akon from Khorki village under Mehendiganj upazila of Barisal was father of the baby.
Dr. S M Sirajul Islam, director of SBMCH, said the place from where allegedly the neonatal became missing was out of the coverage of CC camera. However hospital authourity checking other recordings of CC camera surrounding the ward.
Shah Md. Awalad Hossain, officer in charge of Barisal Kotwali police station, said police receiving the allegation about missing the neonatal already started investigation. Complainant and other patients of the ward also interrogated. Till this report filling of case was under process. Abdul Huq Majhi, maternal grand father of the missing neonatal, said her daughter Salma was admitted at the hospital on Thursday.
