A minor child (8) of Pan Baraid area of Kapasia upazila of Gazipur has been raped by a neighbour. Kafil Uddin Andu, 60, a neighbour grandfather of the child, was arrested around 11 am on Wednesday in connection with this rape.
Kapasia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Alam Chand said the neighbour’s grandfather Kafil Uddin went to the child’s house around 11am on Tuesday. He took the child to the accused’s house to feed him mangoes. He locked the door of a room in the house and tried to rape the child. When the child started screaming, he was released. The baby came back crying and told his mother about the incident. The child was later admitted to Kapasia Upazila Health Complex after finding wounds on his genitals.
The OC further said that the child was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for better treatment. While undergoing treatment, the child’s mother filed a rape case against Kafil Uddin Andu at Kapasia Police Station. The child’s father is an expatriate. After the case, the accused Dada was arrested from Bagher Bazar area of Gazipur Sadar Upazila around 11pm. The accused has been sent to jail through the court.
