Need of patronisation of calligraphy emphasised

Vice Chancellor of International Islamic University Chittagong(IIUC) Prof. AKM Golam Mohiuddin emphasised the need of patronisation in a transparent industry like caligraphy. He disclosed it while addressing the inaugural ceremony of three daylong Amar Ekhushey Program of IIUC at University Auditorium on Monday as Chief Guest.
Pro-VC of IIUC Prof DrDelwar Hossain presided it. On first day of the three day long program on Monday was symposium and Bangla caligraphy competition at Kumira main campus as arranged by Fine Art sangsa. President of Fine Arts Parishad and not cartonist Ibrahim Mandol presents keynote paper in the symposium, IIUC sources said. Former Director of Dhaka Fine Arts Institute and reputed artist Prof.Dr.Abdus Sattar was the principal discussant on the occasion. Noted caligrapher Artist Abdur Rahim and the founder of Orbit and Sharifa Arts School Amirul Islam were present as discussants. Director of Students Affairs Division AJM Obaidullah delivered address of welcome on the occasion. The chief guest in his brief deliverations assures on behalf of the IIUC , we will try with best efforts to accommodate the caligraphy subject in the curriculum in all universities .
