Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Muslim Chowdhury assures to take initiatives of the construction of 2nd Kalurghat bridge on Boalkhali-Kalurghat portion of river Karnaphuli and the need of this rail-cum-road bridge will be apprised to the Prime Minister.Muslim Chowdhury told the leaders of the Boalkhali-Kalurghat Bridge Implementation Parishad at Press Club VIP lounge yesterday during courtesy call .Convenor of the Parishad Abdul Momen handed over a copy of the memorandum in connection to the secretary that submitted earlier to the Prime Minister .
Finance secretary was also apprised about the earlier approval of the Prime Minister regarding the construction of the bridge.Finance secretary assures them to place ma ss demand to :Prime Minister so as to start the construction work on priority basis.
He also opines the prime necessity of this proposed bridge over Karnaphuli river on Boalkhali point.Among others, joint convener Mustafa Naim, general secretary of Press club Suklal Das, General secretary of CUJ Mohammad Ali, Engr.Md. Iqbal. Member secretary Anu taher Tutul,sadequr Rahman and Saifee Anowar were present during courtesy call.
