Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Thursday that they have decided to postpone the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL), the country’s traditional first-class tournament, due to the rise of the corona pandemic. BCB decided to host the third round of NCL in two venues- Cox’s Bazaar and BKSP- in a bio-bubble environment but had to backtrack from it after the government declared movement restriction in Cox’s Bazaar. “Due to the ban on the public transport in Cox’s Bazar, the tournament is currently on hold, as we need two venues to arrange matches of both the tiers and only BKSP ground won’t suffice, as then we would have to arrange only the matches of a particular tier, which is highly unlikely, so we have no other option but to postpone the NCL (National Cricket League) tournament” said a BCB official on Thursday.
