The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has asked for the bank accounts of Dilip Kumar Modi, son of Uttara Group owner Giridhari Lal Modi, currently under the scanner for alleged tax evasion and money laundering.
The NBR’s Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) has recently sent letters to the banks concerned.
The Anti Corruption Commission had summoned Giridhari Lal Modi’s accounts in February last year.
Dilip is acting as the director and managing director of several Uttara Group companies.
NBR also asked for the bank accounts of jeweller Paban Kumar Agarwal and Zulfikar Haider.
Paban is the owner of Gitanjali Jewellers at the Pink City in Gulshan-2.Report
‘RFL Inspiring Women Award’, to honour professional women of the country, is going to take place on March 8 in the city.
Around 500 invitees from the local and multinational corporate sector, development agencies, government bodies and dignitaries from the embassies will grace the ceremony at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden hotel.
The project detail was shared with media on Tuesday at a press conference by Nazia Andaleeb Preema, President of Women Leadership Project, and Advisor Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF). Shariful Islam, Founder of BBF and representative of RFL was present in it.
With the vision to empower and equip women to reach leadership positions in various fields of professionalism, the award is the second phase in the ‘Inspiring Women in Leadership’ project.
The first phase Women Leadership Summit took place in June 2014 to discuss and identify the key areas of opportunities and inspiration for the rise of women to leadership positions.
Recognition and creating inspiring role models were some of the key findings from the summit. Taking the findings from the summit, the Award has been designed to identify and recognize the professional women who can be presented as inspirational role models for the society.
