Revenue collection witnessed a steady rise in the last 11 months of the current fiscal year as the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has collected Tk 3,052 crore more against the revised target of the same period.
“We have collected Tk 132,954 crore in the last 11 months of the current fiscal against the revised target of Tk 129,902,” NBR Chairman Md Nojibur Rahman said and hoped that the NBR would be able to collect a surplus amount of Tk 10,000 against the revised target at the end of FY16.
The revised target of revenue collection for FY16 is 150,000 crore. NBR chairman said a move is underway to reform tax administration and the NBR is showing zero tolerance to corruption and harassment of taxpayers by the NBR officials. Side by side the NBR has taken steps so that the taxpayers can take the advantage of digital tax-payment facilities, he added.
