The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Thursday receptions to 56 highest taxpayers of six districts and Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) under Taxes Zone of Rangpur as recognition to their contribution to boost the national revenue.
On the occasion, Commissioner’s Office hosted a divisional level reception and crest-giving function in the conference room of the Rangpur Tax Building with the main thrust of inspiring the taxpayers to pay more tax and boosting the number of taxpayers.
A large number of taxpayers including members of the civil society, professional leaders and tax lawyers were present at the function.
At the function, apart from Gaibandha of Rangpur division, the best 56 taxpayers of Rangpur tax region comprising 6 districts and Rangpur City Corporation have been honored. Among them, reception accorded to 14 in four categories–highest taxpayer, highest taxpayer young taxpayer, highest taxpayer female taxpayer and long time taxpayer in 2019-20 tax year. They also received an award as the best taxpayer and a tax card.
At the same time, the remaining 42 were given crests and certificates at Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Dinajpur Thakurgaon and Panchagarh circle offices under the tax zone. Tax Commissioner Abu Hannan Delwar Hossain, Additional Tax Commissioner Manzur Alam, Joint Tax Commissioner Ashraful Alam, Assistant Tax Commissioner (Head Administration) Sumon Kumar and President of Rangpur Taxes Bar Association Masum Khan were present, among others, on the occasion.
