An MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) under CSR activity of National Bank Limited has been signed on Sunday between NBL and UCEP- Bangladesh regarding a project named as ‘Industrial Sewing Operation’ training program for 1(one) year term with effect from July-2016 to June-2017, according to a press release.
The deal was signed with an aim to eliminate unemployment and uplift the living standard of the under privileged “Shaontal” tribal people live in Rajshahi region, the press release said.
Shah Syed Abdul Bari, Deputy Managing Director, National Bank Limited and Zaki Hasan, Chief Executive Officer, UCEP Bangladesh signed the MoU on part of their respective organization. Choudhury Moshtaq Ahmed and Md. Badiul Alam Additional Managing Directors, Abdus Sobhan Khan, Deputy Managing Director of National Bank Limited and high officials of both the organizations were present on the occasion.
NBL initiated this ‘Training based employment program’ by co-operation and 50:50 cost sharing with ‘UCEP-Bangladesh, a leading NGO of the country, for the distressed tribal people particularly the Shaontal ethnic group inhabiting in Rajshahi district. In 2015, under this scheme, total 80 Shaontal youths have been given employment in different Industrial Organizations after successful completion of 1(one) year long training program.
