The 39th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nzrul Islam was observed here on Thursday with due solemnity.
Nazrul-Promila Parishad central committee and Manikganj district committee, Nazrul-Promila Institute, Shibalaya, Promila-Nazrul Sangskritik Gosthi Teota, International Nazrul Charcha Kendra and Nazrul-Promila Sahitya Sangsad organized a discussion and cultural function at Teota, the birth place of Promila-Nazrul on the occasion. The function was presided over by Babul Akter Manjur, President, Nazrul-Promila Institute, Shibalaya and Member Secretary of observance committee of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. M A Monnaf Khan, General Secretary, Promila-Nazrul Parishad Central Committee, was present as the chief guest.
The speakers demanded the observance of birth and death anniversary of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam at state level at Teota of Manikganj where the beloved wife of Kazi Nzrul Islam was born.
