A two-day long ‘Nazrul Geeti’ workshop was started at Barisal Charukala and adjacent City College, campus in the city on Friday noon. The programme was organised by Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangstha (BNSS) and supported by Nazrul Sangskritik Jote, Barishal (NSJB) to spread original compositions and propagate the thematic aspects of Nazrul songs. minent Nazrul Geeti singer Mahamudul Hasan, organizing secretary of BNSS inaugurated and Md. Tanvir Hasan directing the workshop.Shuvangkar Chakraborty, cultural activist, presided over the inaugural session, addressed among others by Gopal Krishna Guha Ripon, NSJB secretary, Basudev Ghosh cultural activist, and Sushanta Ghosh of Charukala addressed the inaugural program Friday noon. Fifty Nazrul Geeti singers from different ages and areas of the city participating in the programme.
