The first-ever Nazrul Mela will begin on June 1 at Sisir Mancha, Abanindra Sabhagriha and Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshasala in Kolkata.
Chhayanat (Kolkata) with the participation of the admirers of Kazi Nazrul Islam from both West Bengal and Bangladesh will organise the programme.
The festival will be inaugurated by the legendary Nazrul Sangeet singer Ferdous Ara (Bangladesh), in the presence of Kazi Nazrul Islam’s daughter-in-law Kalyani Kazi while the ceremony will also be attended by many singers and artistes.
Many artistes from both the countries will participate in various cultural and musical programmes during the four-day festival.
It is a unique photo exhibition ‘Autograph On Photograph’ by very well-known photographer Sri Prashant Arora featuring many exclusive photos of renowned Nazrul Sangeet singers of both the countries.
