The government has decided to appoint Md Nazmul Quaunine, the ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia, as the next high commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, said an official release on Saturday.
A career diplomat Quaunine belongs to the 1985 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.
In his diplomatic career, besides being the ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia & the United Arab Emirates (UAE), he also served in Bangladesh embassy in Washington D.C, Bangladesh Permanent Mission to UN in Geneva and Bangladesh High Commissions in Islamabad and London in various capacities.
He obtained an MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He completed a post graduate diploma in diplomacy and international relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (GIIS), Geneva.
The envoy is blessed with a son and one daughter, the release added.
