Nazmul Hasan Shanto scored a magnificent unbeaten ton as league leader Abahani Limited beat Agrani Bangk Cricket Club by 11 runs in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) held on Tuesday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Opted to bat first after winning the toss, Abahani Limited amassed a challenging total of 290 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs.
Shanto played an impressive 123-ball off 133-run laced with 11 boundaries and three over boundaries while Mohammad Mithun blasted 38-ball off 46-run that studded with three boundaries and one over boundary to help Abahani to set up a massive target for Agrani Bank.
Salman Hossain and Al Amin Hossain shared two Abahani’s wickets conceding 40 and 55 runs respectively.
In reply, despite opener Shariar Nafees’s fighting 121-run knock, Agrani Bank fell short as they were all out for 279 in 49.5 overs. Nafees composed a brilliant 119-ball off 121-run that contained 13 boundaries and three over boundaries before he was removed by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
Raza Ali Dar (62) and Dhiman Ghosh (46) were the other notable scorers for Agrani Bank.
Speedster Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the wrecker in-chief, caused the major damage for Agrani Bank as he grabbed six wickets conceding 44 runs. He was well supported by Ariful Hasan who claimed two wickets for 57 runs.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto of Abahani Limited was named the player of the match for his magnificent batting display.
