Nayan Kumar Mohanto took the solo lead in the Walton Amateur Rating Chess Championship with full 5 points after the 5th round games at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room here on Friday.
Seven players – Jewel Khan, Saimon Siddiqur Rahman, Mohammad Ibrahim Hossain, Aminul Islam, Avik Sarker, Habibur Rahman Sohel and Shafiqul Islam – are sharing the 2nd position with 4.5 points each.
In the 5th round games, Nayan beat Emdadul Haque, Jewel played draw against Saimon, Ibrahim defeated Faisal Hossain, Amin outplayed Matiur Rahman Mamun, Avik beat Sariatullah, Sohel beat Feroz Ahmed and Shafiq beat Zainal Abedin.
