Nawhata Pourasava places Tk 34.32cr budget

Nawhata Pourasava under Paba Upazila in the district has proposed an earning-expenditure balanced budget of Taka 34.32 crore for the upcoming 2014-15 fiscal giving priority to the education and sanitation sectors.
“We have given the highest priority to the sectors having enormous potentials in the uppazila,” said Poura Mayor Abdul Gafur while presenting the budget at its conference hall here Monday.
Ayen Uddin, MP, attended and addressed the budget-announcing session as the chief guest with the poura Mayor in the chair. All Ward Councilors, officials of the line departments, local elites and journalists were present.
Lawmaker Ayen Uddin viewed budget formulation and implementation is the precondition to strengthen the local government institutions. He says the present government has taken steps to strengthen the local government institutions.
He also says open announcement of annual budget is very vital for making the grassroots level infrastructural and other socio economic development works more transparent, accountable and need-oriented.
He stressed the need for enhanced participation of common people in formulating effective local budgets and its proper implementation.
Taking part in the open discussion, some community people, who were present on the occasion, said there is no alternative to involving grassroots people in formulating effective budgets to ensure uniform development.
Adopting opinions from representatives of all local communities is needed for successful implementation of the budget that will speak for the local people, enhance smooth development and ensure women empowerment.
