Premier Div Chess: Navy take lead beating Mohammedan SC

Bangladesh Navy Chess Team secured the top slot in the Walton Home Appliance Premier Division Chess League-2014 beating defending champions Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd in the 7th round matches at the Bangladesh Olympic Association media centre on Tuesday.
Navy earned 12 points after beating Mohammedan SC by 2.5-1.5 points in the 7th round matches while Mohammedan SC is in 2nd position with 10 points.
In the 7th round matches, GM Enamul Hossain Razib and IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar of Navy beat GM Ziaur Rahman and GM Niaz Murshed of Mohammedan SC respectively while GM Abudullah Al Rakib of Navy drew with Georgian GM Merab Gagunashvili of Mohammedan SC.
The other Georgian GM of Mohammedan SC, Mikheil Mchedlishvili won against FM Taibur Rahman of Navy.
Meanwhile, Titas Club Chess Team took the 3rd position securing 8 points.
In the 7th round matches, Titas Club beat Leonine Chess Club by 3-1 points.
FM Saif Uddin Lavlu, Shafiq Ahmed and FM Mohammed Abdul Malek of Titas Club beat FM Mehdi Hasan, CM Monir Hossain and Uten of Leonine Chess Club respectively.
Only CM Sohel Chowdhury of Leonine Chess won against FM Debaraj Chatterjee of Titas Club.
In the days’ other 2 matches, Pritam-Prism Chess Club of Narayanganj drew with Sreejan Chess Club 2-2 while Fire-Service & Civil Defense Sports Club also drew with Sulatana Kamal Smriti Pathagar 2-2.
Today’s 8th round matches: Sreeejan Chess vs Titas Club; Dhaka Mohammedan vs Pritam-Prism; Sultana Kamal Smrit vs Bangladesh Navy; Bangladesh Navy Junior vs Fire Service & Civil Defense.
