Country’s noted theatre personality Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu received the Natyacharya Selim Al Deen Award this year.
He received the award at the closing ceremony of Selim Al Deen’s birth anniversary festival recently.
Eminent cultural personality Ramendu Majumder handed over the award to Nasiruddin Yousuff at an award giving ceremony held at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) as chief guest. Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the ceremony.
To celebrate the 65th birth anniversary of the late theatre icon, theatre troupe Swapnadal organised the five-day festival in Dhaka and Mymensingh respectively.
In the stir of the ceremony, the theatre troupe staged its much-acclaimed production Hargaj at the same venue on last of the festival.
Hargaj, which is an experimental work of pioneering playwright Selim Al Deen, has been directed by Zahid Repon.
