Chittagong Division team and Comilla District team posted wins in their respective matches of the Agrani Bank 26th National Youth Hockey Competition on Tuesday.
In the day’s first match, Chittagong Division team edged past Rajshahi Division team by 5-4 goals in the tie-breaker at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
The stipulated 70-minute match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Zahid of Rajshahi Division team put his team ahead by a field goal in the 15th minute of the play.
Parvez of Chittagong Division equalized the margin in the 60th minute of the game.
Thus the fate of the match was decided in the penalty shoot-out.
In the day’s second match, Comilla District team defeated Madaripur District team by two goals to nil at the same venue.
Zabed Hossain and Hridoy of Comilla District team scored one goal each.
