Bangladesh Under-19 National Football team returned home from Nepal at 4:50 pm on Sunday after completing the six-nation First South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-19 Championship. Bangladesh finished their SAFF U-19 Championship mission losing to India by 4-3 goals in the semifinal in a sudden death at ANFA Complex, Kathmandu on Thursday (Au 27). Host Nepal clinched the SAFF U-19 Championship title, with all win record, beating India by 5-4 goals in the final also in a sudden death at the same venue on Saturday (Aug 29). Bangladesh soccer team left Dhaka for Kathmandu on August 18 to play the first edition South Asian meet. Bangladesh managed their semifinal berth as the Group-A runners-up beating all-loser Bhutan by 2-0 goals in the first group match while they lost to hosts Nepal by 1-2 goals in the 2nd and last group match.Earlier, Bangladesh was seeded in Group-A with Nepal and Bhutan while Group-B comprised of India, Afghanistan and Maldives to complete the six nation meet.
