Nat’l swimming competition begins today

The 28th National swimming diving and water polo competition begins today (Sunday) at Syed Nazrul Islam national swimming complex at Mirpur.
The three-day competition includes swimming, diving and water polo events, organized by Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF).
The diving competition will be held at Bangladesh Navy’s diving pool as there is no arrangement of spring board at swimming complex.
A total of 420 swimmers from 59 teams of different districts, divisional sports associations BKSP, educational boards, services teams and swimming clubs from across the country will take part in the competition.
The budget of for the competition has been estimated at Taka 20 lacs. The team event champions, runners-up and third place finishers of swimming and water polo events will be awarded trophy.
In this regards, a press conference was held on Saturday at conference room of Bangladesh Olympic Association to give all the details of the meet.
BSF general secretary Rafiz Uddin Rafiz, BSF joint secretary AB Saif, BSF treasurer Rezaul Hossain Badsha were all present on the occasion.
