The 41st Death Anniversary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning day’ 2016 was observed at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRU) with due respect and solemnity on Monday. On the occasion, an elaborated programs have been chalked out which were included hoisting of national flag at half-mast, wearing black badges, mourning rally, placing floral wreath, easy and poetry writing competition, documentary film show, photo exhibition. BSMRU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Mahbubar Rahman placed floral wreath at the university’s Bangabandhu’s mural first. Then different halls, Gonotrantrik Teachers Association, Employees Association and university school also placed floral wreath.
Treasurer of the university Prof Dr Md. Ismail Hossain Mian, all Deans, Directors, Proctor, Provosts, Registrar and other faculty members, students, Officers, Employees and teachers-students of the University school were present at that time. After Zohr prayer QuranKhani, MiladMahfil and special Doa also offered at the University central Mosque.

BOU

The National Mourning Day was observed at the main campus of Bangladesh Open University (BOU) at Gazipur and at its other offices through the country with due respect and solemnity on Monday marking the 41st anniversary of the martyrdom of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The programme of the day began with the placing of floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the histrorical 32 Dhanmondi by the Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr M A Mannan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Treasurer and the Teachers, Officers, Employee of the University in Dhaka and also at the Liberation Memorial Monunent at BOU`s campus in Gazipur.
Besides, the national flag was half past in the BOU`s Main campus on the day. Again special prayers offered and Quarankhane took place for salvation of the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members who were assassinated on this day.
Later, foods were distributed among the destitute people. Further more, recitation, essay and painting competition held at the main campus among the children of the employees and nearby schools students. Teachers association of the university arranged the program.

GUB

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) observed the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at its campus in Rekeya Sarani on Monday. Prof Dr Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Vice-Chancellor of the university presided over the program while Prof Dr Md. Azizur Rahman of Dhaka University Physics Department was present as chief guest. The Advisor of Green Business School, Prof MM Khan, Treasurer and Director of Student Affairs, Md. Shahid Ullah, Registrar, Lt Gen Md. Mainul Islam (LPR), Dean, Green Business School, Prof Dr Golam Ahmed Faruqui and Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Prof Dr Md. Fayzur Rahman were present as special guest.
A discussion meeting was held commemorating the tragedy that occurred on 15 August 1975 leading to the death of Bangabandhu and most of his family members. The different speakers discussed on different aspects of the “Incomplete Autobiography” of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. GUB Reading Society has organized a quiz competition among the students of different departments of the university. Vice-Chancellor provided the certificates and prizes among the participants. Later, a prayer was conducted by the Vice-Chancellor for eternal peace of the departed souls. Chairpersons of different departments, faculty members, officials and students of the university were present on the occasion.

EWU

East West University (EWU) observed the National Mourning Day and paid homage to the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due solemnity and honor marking his 41st Death Anniversary on 15 August 2016 at the university campus, Aftabnagar in the capital. The national flag and the EWU flag were hoisted at half-mast as a mark of reverence. The program followed by a “Munajat”. A prayer was offered for eternal peace of Bangabandhu and his family members who embraced shahadat on 15 August 1975.  
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees (EWU) and former Personal Secretary of Bangabandhu, Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr MM Shahidul Hassan, Treasurer, Deans, and Chairpersons of the different departments, Registrar (acting), faculty members and staffs of the university were present on the occasion.

BSMRMU

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh observed “The 41st Death Anniversary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day 2016” at its temporary campus at Pallabi, Mirpur-12.
The university organized a Milad and Doa Mahfil, an essay competition, a discussion session and short film presentation on the life of Bangabandhu. The Vice-Chancellor Rear Admiral ASM Abdul Baten graced the occasion as chief guest and all faculty members, students, officers and staffs of the university were present.
The chief guest distributed prizes among the best essay-writers on Bangabandhu’s life and work. In his speech, the VC urged all to work hard together towards creating maritime human resource base of the nation and contributing towards ‘blue economy’, which the father of the nation envisioned long before.

ASAUB

ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB) observed the National Mourning Day marking the 41st Death Anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect and solemnity on MOnd. ASAUB organized a discussion program on the life and activity of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Prof Dr Helal uz Zaman, Treasurer of ASAUB presided over the discussion program.
Prof Dr Dalem Ch Barman, Vice Chancellor of ASAUB, Prof Dr Abu Daud Hasan, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof Iqbal Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Business, Prof Dr. Kohinur Begum, Dean, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Md. Saiful Alam, Acting Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof Dr Iqbal Hossain, Chairman, Dept. of Business Administration, Prof Dr Mohammad Abdul Bari, Chairman, Dept. Of Public Health, Prof S Aminul Islam, Chairman, Dept. of Applied Sociology and students from different departments spoke on the program. Registrar of ASAUB Md. Khalequzzman delivered the welcome speech while Mohammad Masudur Rahman, Deputy Registrar of ASAUB conducted the program.
The speakers discussed on various aspects of the life of the architect of the country’s Independence and the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman. They told that August 15 is a black day in the country’s history. It’s a day of stigma. They said Bangabandhu spent almost all his life struggling to liberate the country. The speakers said that in his political career, he met with a lot of success and the biggest achievement was the liberation of the country. They said, Bangabandhu’s love for people was enormous. It was Bangabandhu who was able to turn Bangladesh a respected nation.
Chairmen, teachers and students from different departments, officials of ASAUB were present in the discussion program.
