North South University (NSU) organized the inaugural session of a two-day National Language Festival namely “Language League 2019” on Friday at its campus in the city.
Planning Minister Muhammad Abdul Mannan, MP was the chief guest at the inaugural session of the program. Mustafiz Shafi, Acting Editor of the Daily Samakal, Yan Hualong, Minister Counselor, China Embassy in Dhaka, Freedom Fighter Lion Benajir Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, North South University and Chairman of Partex Group, Former MP and Former Chairman of Board of Trustees, NSU, MA Hashem were present as special guests. Prof Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of NSU presided over the program.
Planning Minister Muhammad Abdul Mannan said, if we have to get involved in the human race, if the procession of the human race is to continue in equal rhythm, we have to nurture own culture in our own language. When our language was attacked, it was then that one of our spirits awakened, through which we passed the long colonial darkness and got the sunlight of freedom. In the meantime, he thanked the university authorities for organizing program like the national language festival.
Mustafiz Shafi said, we want a generation that will be full of human values and technological knowledge, they will take society and country forward with humanity. In the meantime, he urged the students to succeed in professionalism as well as to develop the qualities of humanity.
Chairman, Board of Trustees, NSU Freedom Fighter Lion Benajir Ahmed said, we all have a dream, we dream of establishing ourselves, NSU is providing international quality education and facilities to make that dream a reality.
Among others, Deans of different schools, Directors of various departments, Department Heads, Senior officials, Teachers and more than a thousand students and their parents from different schools, colleges and universities of the country competing in Bangla, English and Chinese language were also present during the program.
