Bangladesh national football team’s head coach Tom Saintfiet returned to Dhaka from his home country Belgium on Wednesday morning.
After his arrival, Saintfiet had a courtesy meeting with Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) general secretary Abu Nyeem Sohag.
The Belgian left Dhaka for home on July 31 citing a family issue and confirmed his return in an email massage to BFF on Aug 11.
Saintfiet is expected to start the national booters’ training camp for Asian Cup Qualifiers on August 27.
43-year-old Saintfiet is expected to sign the official deal with BFF within this week, said a BFF official source.
Saintfiet has been involved as the national team head coach from July 12 on a verbal agreement with BFF, ahead of the Bangladesh’s two Play-off-2 matches for the Asian Cup Qualifiers at home on September 6 and away on October 10 against Bhutan.
Saintfiet was scheduled to sign the official agreement as head coach on July 27 last, after a discussion with BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, but skipped the official signing for a proposed three-month agreement citing his sickness.
