The National Food Safety Day-2022 was observed on Wednesday across the country with a vow to ensuring safe food for all in a befitting manner.
This year’s theme was principles of good health, safe food and hygiene’.
Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) including District Administration in Kishoreganj arranged a discussion meeting, rood show and handbills distribution marking the national food safety day.
A discussion meeting was held at Collectorate Conference Room on Wednesday noon. Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director in Local Government (LG) Habibur Rahman attended as Chief Guest while ADC(General) Nazmul Islam Sarker presided over.
It was addressed among others by Additional SP (Administration) Mustuque Sarker as special guest, CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, DNCRP Assistant Director (AD) Rehdoy Ronjon Bonik, District Press Club president Mostafa Kamal, Mohila Awami League District Secretary and CAB Vice President Bilkis Begum, Chamber Vice President Apu Chowdhury, Hotel -Restaurant Association President Shahidul Islam and BFSA Officer Ashraful Talukder.
Sylhet Bureau adds: The National Food Safety Day was observed in Sylhet under the theme ‘principles of health, safe food and hygiene’. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held on Wednesday at 11 am in the Sylhet District Administration Conference Room.
The event was organized by Sylhet District Administration in collaboration with Bangladesh Safe Food Authority.
DC of Sylhet Mojibor Rahman said that all food from production to dining table must be made safe. Safe food is everyone’s right. Eating unsafe foods can lead to serious health risks, including cancer, kidney disease, and disability. Therefore, it is very important to create public awareness about nutritious and safe food. The government has enacted the Safe Food Act 2013 to ensure safe food for all. He urged the government as well as all to work together to keep all food safe.
