The 20th National Deworming Week will start today in all the districts across the country with a view to decline worm-related diseases to zero percent.
“To bring the number to zero percent as a part of the continuous efforts, this year the children at primary and higher secondary level would be administered deworming medicines,” said Director of Disease Control Unit and Line Director of Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) Professor Dr Sania Tahmina on Saturday.
She said that the school students are the most vulnerable to be infected with worm related diseases and more awareness should be created about health hygiene, use of sanitary latrine and hand washing before taking every meals.
