10 to get ICT entrepreneurship award

A good number of entrepreneurs presented their innovative projects on Tuesday, the second day of the 4-day programme marking the National Demo Day organized by the ICT Division and Better Stories Ltd, a research organization on entrepreneurship, according to a press release.
The first-ever National Demo Day is being held under the umbrella of Startup Bangladesh with support from Grameenphone Accelerator and Venture Capital and Private Equity Association of Bangladesh.
To inspire startup culture across the country, the government will award ten Bangladeshi tech startups on May 25, where startups will be linked with a host of local and foreign investors.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak visited the programme yesterday. Gameenphone CEO Petter-B Furberg, Director (Training and Development) of Bangladesh Computer Council Engineer Enamul Kabir, head of transformation of Garmeenphone Kazi Mahbub Hasan, General Secretary of VCPEAB Shawkat Hossain, Director of Better Stories Ltd Selima Hossaain Elina, were also present.
Investors from India, China, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands and Australia also participated in the programme.
44 entrepreneurs, who are working to innovate different projects, are participating in the function from where 10 entrepreneurs will be selected finally for award. The award will be distributed among the winners on May 25.
