Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid, Vice Chancellor of National University, Md. Sohorab Hossain, Senior Secretary Ministry of Education, Prof Dr MA Mannan, Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University and Md. Abdul Malek, Secretary, Ministry of Information attended a workshop namely ‘National Consultation Workshop on Open Educational Resources (OER) in Bangladesh’ at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon recently. The workshop was jointly organized by Ministry of Education, Access to Information Program and Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. The workshop discussed Open Educational Resources (OER) policies to improve the learning outcomes and fostering innovations. Bangladesh Open University will engage with the stakeholders for adoption of a national OER policy in Bangladesh in consultation with the Ministry of Education and Access to Information (a2i) Program. The daylong workshop adopted the strategy and implementation of OER policy in Bangladesh. A total of 50 educationist, high officials from University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), ministries, directorate and institution, Access to Information, National Curriculum and Textbook Board, universities, international organizations and NGOS and Bangladesh Open University took part in the workshop.
