The 4th Walton National Youth Women’s Handball Competition begins tomorrow at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
To mark the imminent handball tournament, a press conference was held at the office room of Bangladesh Handball Federation on Thursday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinnor, Operative Director (Head of Sports & Welfare Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chairman of the Tournament Committee Engineer Ali Azam, Vice-Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Nurul Islam, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Makbul Hossain were present at the conference, among others.
A total of 12 teams dividing into four groups are competing in the six-day long handball meet.
Rajshahi DSA, Gopalganj DSA, Dinajpur DSA are in Group-A, Naogaon DSA, Narail DSA, Jessore DSA are in Group-B, Bagerhat DSA, Panchgarh DSA, Dhaka DSA are in Group-C, Kushtia DSA, Madaripur DSA, Jamalpur DSA are in Group-D.
The first phase of the tournament will be held on August 5 and August 6.
Top one team from each group will move into the semi-finals. The two semi-finals will be held on August 7.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final.
The third place-deciding match will be taken place on August 8.
The final will be held on August 10.
The champions, the runners-up and the third place achiever team will get trophies.
