The Walton Battery 31st National Senior (Men’s) & National Senior (Women’s) Wrestling Competition starts today (Wednesday) at the Kabaddi Stadium.
Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation will arrange the two-day long wrestling competition. Walton is the title sponsor of the wrestling meet.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza will open the wrestling competition as the chief guest while Country Sole Agent of Walton Battery Md Sirajul Islam, Chairman of Manna Foundation Shelly Manna will be with him as special guests. Chairman of the Tournament Committee and Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Don, General Secretary of Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation Tabiur Rahman will be present at the time.
The weight categories for Men’s Division are: 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 97 kg and 125 kg.
The weight categories for Women’s Division are: 48 kg, 53 kg, 55 kg, 58 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 69 kg and 75 kg.
The participating teams are: Bangladesh Army, BGB, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar, Dhaka, Madaripur, Gazipur, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Kishoreganj, Comilla, Rajshahi, Chapainababganj, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Khulna, Jessore, Narail, Rangpur, Kurigram, Kushtia and Gaibandha.
The gold medallist of each event will get Tk two thousand. Besides, the best man wrestler and the best woman wrestler will be awarded by Walton.
