The Walton 2nd National Women’s Softball Championship begins at the Paltan Maidan on December 13. Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association will arrange the three-day long softball meet under auspices of Walton Group.
In this regard, a press conference was held at the conference room in the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. Senior Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association Aminul Islam Liton, Representative of ATN Bangla Porag Arman, Administrator of the Bangabandhu National Stadium Mobarok Karim Liton, Member of the Executive Committee of the Association Md Sabbir Hossain and Coach of the Association Talha Jubaer were present at the conference.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the first phase of the tournament. Top two teams will play in the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final.
Reigning champions Bangladesh Ansar & VDP, Bangladesh Police, Dhaka District Sports Association, Sand Angel Baseball Club, Sirajganj Krira Shikkha Protishtan, Dhaka Commerce College, South Point Baseball Club, Solaiman SC will compete in the tournament. The softball meet will be concluded on December 15.
