The Walton first national women’s softball competition begins today (Thursday) at Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in the city, said a press release.
A total of eight teams, split into two groups, are taking part in the meet, sponsored by Walton Group and organised by Bangladesh Baseball Soft Ball Association.
The semi-finals of the competition will be held on Friday (December 22) while the final is slated on Saturday (December 23).
In this regards, a press conference was held on Wednesday at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium to provide all the details of the meet.
Walton Group operative director (head of games and sports) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, Bangladesh Baseball Soft Ball Association general secretary Aminul Islam Liton, media partner ATN Bangla’s adviser Meer Motahar Hasan were present, among others, on the occasion.
Participating teams:
Group A – Bangladesh Police, Narail, Gazipur and Dahaka districts
Group B – Bangladesh Ansar, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, ASSP Sirajganj and Dhaka Commerce College.
