Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) including Kishoreganj District Administration arranged a colourful rally, discussion, postering and cultural function marking the National Voters’ Day aims at spreading awarness among the youth democracy election and voteing wrights.
A discussion meeting was held at local collectorate conference room on Friday morning.
Zila Parished Chairman Advocate Md. Zillur Rahman was attended as chief guest while Deputy Secretary & ADC (G) Torafder Md. Akhter Jamil in the chair.
It was addressed among others Additional Police Super Md. Shafiqul Islam as special guest, District Election Officre Md. Tajul Islam, P.P Advocate Shah Aziz, Sadar UNO Mehadi Hasan, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Women Leader Bilkis Begum and Awami League Masum Khan.
Later, a colourfull rally was brought out in the town led by Zila Parished Chairman Advocate Md. Zillur Rahman.
Chandpur Correspondent adds: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni MP has said, in order to make the people of 18 years aware to enroll them as voters and to make them inspired about their voting rights, duties and responsibilities, the ‘National Voters’ Day’ is being observed across the country on Friday for the first time.
This was stated by her while replying to a question of the journalists before she joined a meeting as chief guest, arranged marking the (National Voters’ Day ) day , at 11 am, held at the DC’s Conference room.
She added, ‘ after becoming a voter, a voter may be able to find his/her right way through applying his /her democratic rights in future’.
She again said, to make this month of Independence more meaningful, this national day has been selected. Later, she joined the meeting of the National Voters’ Day with DC Majedur Rahman Khan in the chair. Syeda Rubina Akter MP, Police Super Jihadul Kabir, District Election Officer Helaluddin Khan, District AL President and Municipal Mayor Nasiruddin Ahmed, General Secretary Abu Nayeem Patwary Dulal, among others, spoke with reference to the topic and significance of this national day at the meeting.
 Prior to it, the Education Minister joined a big colourful rally marking National Voters’ Day that marched through the main streets of the town.
Teachers, officials of different Government and non-Government offices and institutions took part in it.
