Bangladesh National Under-15 Women’s Football team left the city on Wednesday night for Hong Kong to take part in the Jockey Club Girls’ International Youth Invitational Football Tournament scheduled to be held at the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground in Hong Kong from March 30 to April 1.
A total of four teams will take part in the football competition. They are : Hong Kong National Under-15 Women’s Football team, Bangladesh National Under-15 Women’s Football team, Malaysia National Under-15 Women’s Football team and Iran National Under-15 Women’s Football team. The competition will be held in single league basis. The highest point-taker team will be the champions of the meet.
Bangladesh will take on Malaysia on March 30, face Iran on March 31 and meet Hang Kong on April 1.
Regarding the football competition, a press conference was held at the conference room in Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Wednesday.
General Secretary of BFF Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Chairperson of the Women’s Football Committee of BFF Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Head Coach of Bangladesh National Women’s Football team Golam Rabbani Choton, Team Manager of Bangladesh National Under-15 Women’s Football team Amirul Islam Babu, Assistant Coach of Bangladesh National Under-15 Women’s Football team Md Mahbubur Rahman Litu, Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Captain of Bangladesh National Under-15 Women’s Football team Maria Manda, were present at the conference, among others.
Kiron said, ” The women have been coaching for three months. They have a good preparation.”
Choton said, ” After becoming the champions of SAFF Under-15 Women’s Football Championship, my girls have been taking part in the coaching camp for three months. The teams, which will compete in the ensuing football competition, are strong sides. My team are also strong. Earlier, we beat Iran. We did not play against Malaysia and Hong Kong. I hope my girls will perform well and will play for win. All the participating teams are almost equal in strength.”
Maria Manda said, ” Our opponents are strong. We are also strong. We have a good preparation. We entertained the spectators in Dhaka. I hope that we shall entertain the spectators of Hong Kong by showing a better brand of soccer.”
Dawn said, ” We gave assistance to all the women’s football team. We are also with them this time. I hope that they will bring a good result.”
